From the first visit until the system looks after itself
A monitoring system is not an IT project. Here is what actually happens, what we do, and what we need from you along the way.
How long does it take to get a monitoring system up and running?
The installation itself is typically done in a day or two. What takes the most time is the documentation and validation: describing, testing and documenting that the system does what it should before it goes into operation.
If a mapping study is needed first, that comes on top. A study typically runs for several days under normal operation, and the report is what justifies where the fixed sensors should be placed.
The total time depends mostly on how quickly decisions can be made on your side. We give a concrete estimate after the walkthrough.
Eight steps, and who does what
You do not have to run the project. But there are three points where we need a decision from you.
Walkthrough
We come out, look at the equipment and rooms and advise on where the sensors should go.
UsProposal
You receive a tailored proposal with the number of measuring points, equipment and price. No obligation.
UsDecision
You decide on the scope and on whether mapping is needed first.
YouDocumentation
We prepare the documentation for the project, so it is ready for your QA. This is where most of the time goes.
UsInstallation
Wireless setup, typically in a day or two, during normal operation.
UsConfiguration
Limits, delays and on-call rotas are set up together with you, and your staff are trained.
TogetherValidation
We validate the system, on our own or together with your QA, before it goes into operation.
TogetherOperation
Service, calibration and sensor exchange. The same people who were there from the start.
UsThe walkthrough is the most important meeting
That is where it is decided whether the system will work. We walk round and look at every refrigerator, every freezer and every room, and we ask how the equipment is used day to day.
How often is the door left open. Who is on call at night. What happens when someone fetches something at seven in the morning. Those are the answers that determine limits and delays afterwards.
Meetings typically last an hour to an hour and a half, and you do not need to prepare anything.

What we need from you
Your limits
Which temperatures and conditions your SOPs require. We configure your figures, we do not decide them.
An on-call rota
Who should be called first, and who is backup. At least two names, preferably three.
A contact person
Someone who can make decisions about scope and with whom we can coordinate the installation.
Why we do it this way
We have tried skipping steps. It always ends up in the same place, so we no longer do it.
01
We do not quote without having been on site
The number of measuring points depends on the room, the equipment and how it is used. A figure given over the phone is a guess, and a guess ends up costly for one of us.
02
We do not set limits for you
Your SOPs and risk assessment determine what counts as a deviation. We advise on delays and placement, but the figures are yours.
03
We do not install and walk away
A system without an on-call rota and without training is a logbook. Configuration is part of the delivery, not an add-on.
04
We take over calibration
The most common inspection finding in this area is an overdue interval. It is easier to avoid when we keep track of it than when it sits in a spreadsheet on your side.
Frequently asked questions
What does a walkthrough cost?
Nothing, and there is no obligation. We visit, take a look and come back with a proposal.
Does production have to stop during installation?
No. The installation is wireless, so there are no cables through walls and no reason to stop operations.
How long does the installation take?
Typically a day or two for a standard installation. Large sites take longer, and we state that in the proposal.
Do we need mapping first?
If you need to be able to document that the whole room holds, yes. For individual cabinets it is rarely necessary.
Who trains our staff to use it?
We do, on site, together with you. It is part of the configuration.
What happens afterwards?
We look after the system. Calibration on time, sensor exchange without downtime, and support from people who know your installation.
