What is the Pt100 Smart-Sensor, -100 to +200, and how does it work?
The sensor is a Pt100 like the cryo variant, but specified for a different range. The resistance of platinum changes predictably with temperature across the whole interval, so accuracy can be documented both at room temperature and at 200 degrees.
It is used for equipment where a standard sensor either cannot withstand the temperature or is not specified that high: heating cabinets, drying ovens, autoclaves and process equipment.

The product in use
The sensor is mounted in the chamber or the process equipment, and the data logger sits outside, where it is not exposed to the heat.
Readings are logged continuously, so a cycle can be documented afterwards and not just read off while it runs.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two Pt100 variants?
Only the measuring range. One covers -200 to +50, the other -100 to +200. The principle and the connection are the same.
Can one sensor cover both extremes?
No. Accuracy is specified within the range, so we choose the variant based on what is actually being measured.
Can it be used in an autoclave?
Yes, within its range. We review the specific application before recommending a placement.
