What is the difference between the cable-free and the cabled version?
The cable-free version measures directly at the data logger and sits in the data logger's socket. It is typically used in storage rooms and premises where there is no need to run an external sensor out via a cable.
For cabinets and other enclosed spaces we use the cabled version instead. The Emerald Bluetooth sensor measures temperature only, not humidity.

The product in use
The cable-free variant is chosen for storage rooms and premises where the data logger sits on the wall and a cable would only be in the way. The sensor sits directly in the logger's socket, so there is no cable to run or secure.
If the sensor needs to sit inside a cabinet or a refrigerator, we use the cabled version. The cable-free one is not intended for that, and Emerald measures temperature only, not humidity.

Frequently asked questions
Is it wireless?
No. It sits directly in the data logger's socket. If the sensor needs to sit somewhere other than the logger, we use the cabled version. The Emerald Bluetooth sensor measures temperature only, so it cannot replace a humidity sensor.
Does it have a battery?
No. It is powered through the data logger, exactly like the cabled version.
Is the measurement as accurate as the cabled one?
Yes. It is the same sensor, just without the cable.
