Hospitals / Fertility clinic and IVF

Monitoring of incubators and cryo storage

Temperature, humidity and CO2 measured in the same sensor inside the incubator, and Emerald with Pt100 in the liquid nitrogen tanks. One system for the whole clinic, from culture to storage.

CO2 incubator at a fertility clinic

How do you monitor a CO2 incubator?

With a sensor that measures temperature, relative humidity and CO2 concentration at the same time, placed inside the chamber. The sensor is small enough for compact incubators and connects to the data logger with a flat cable through the access port, so the door still seals tightly. All three parameters can be logged in the same curve, so a deviation can be seen in context, or in three individual curves.

The sensor is powered by the data logger and needs no external power inside the chamber.

A course of treatment cannot be repeated

The incubator's own display shows what the device thinks. That is not the same as having an independent measurement that is stored.

And a CO2 level that drifts slowly does not look like anything on a display. It only shows in a curve over the day.

Behind every sample is a patient who cannot simply start over. That is why the deviation must be caught while it can still be corrected, and the course must be documentable afterwards.

Three parameters in one sensor, in the same curve

If you only measure temperature, you only see a third of the picture. An incubator can hold its temperature and still be out of spec.

01

Temperature

The parameter everyone measures. Important, but rarely the first to drift.

02

CO2

Drifts slowly with a leaking door or a low cylinder. Only shows in a curve over the day, not on a display.

03

Relative humidity

Falls with repeated door openings, and evaporation changes the composition of the medium.

OCEAView from DICKSON, set up and looked after by us

The hardware is DICKSON's. The software is DICKSON's. Everything between the equipment and your day-to-day work is ours. And once the system is complete, it is yours. You buy it, you own it, and no leasing agreement decides when you can switch, expand or stop. We handle the maintenance, so it keeps running.

OCEAView

The whole setup on one screen. Watch mode gives a combined status overview of the equipment you have access to, with up to 100 units per page, and each graph can be zoomed down to the individual minute. Plan View also places the points on your own floor plan, so the person on call can see which room it concerns.

Audit trail that cannot be altered

Every measurement, alarm and acknowledgement with timestamp and user. That is what an auditor asks for.

Report in one click

Choose a period and pull the report as PDF or CSV. Ready before anyone asks.

Cloud or your own servers

On-premises runs at your site with LDAP, and you control updates yourselves, so the qualification holds.

DICKSON

The manufacturer

Builds data loggers, sensors and OCEAView. French and American production, its own accredited calibration laboratories and CE, FCC and IC approved equipment.

Distributor since 2018

We advise on placement, design the setup, install, set up alarms and on-call rotas, train your staff on the system and manage calibration afterwards.

You

Owner of the system

The system is yours. You set limits, response times and requirements according to your own SOPs. We supply the system and the documentation, handle the validation, on our own or in close collaboration with you, and maintain it afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Is the sensor small enough for our incubator?

Yes. The triple sensor is designed for compact incubators, and the flat cable is routed through the access port, so the door still seals tightly.

Does the sensor need power inside the chamber?

No. It is powered from the data logger outside the incubator, so there are no extra wires or adapters in the chamber.

Can we use the same system for the liquid nitrogen tanks?

Yes. Emerald with a Pt100 probe to -200 degrees covers the cryo storage, so incubators and tanks sit in the same dashboard.

Why not just use the incubator's own alarm system?

Because it measures with the device's own sensor and rarely stores data in a way you can present. An independent measurement with traceable calibration is something other than the device's own display.

How do we avoid an alarm every time the door opens?

Each limit has its own delay. The value must stay outside the limit for the number of minutes you decide before the alarm goes off.

How often does the sensor need calibrating?

You define the interval yourselves based on your SOPs, typically every 12 months. The system notifies you when a sensor's calibration is about to expire, and you choose the notice period. The certificate is retrieved directly from the sensor.
